SHC Opening News

We’re excited to announce the opening date for the new Staffordshire History Centre!  We are thrilled to let you know that we will open our doors to the public on Wednesday 6th November. 

Staff are busy behind the scenes adding the finishing touches to our new spaces, resources and displays.

The centre will be open 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday to Saturday. The research room is open 10am – 4pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am-2pm every third Saturday of the month.  Pre-booking is advisable to avoid disappointment.

We will be sharing more information soon about our Autumn and Winter events programme, temporary exhibitions and bookings procedures for our new research room.

We can’t wait to welcome you to explore over 1000 years of Staffordshire’s history from early next month.

    What are your opening times please

    Do you have public access to 1921 census

    Can we run a laptop and charge it whilst researching

    Opening times are Tuesday to Saturday 10-4 for the centre and Tuesday to Friday 10-4 for the research room plus the third Saturday of the month. Please pre-book a place here and make sure you have an archives card. Staffordshire History Centre – Staffordshire History

    We have access to the 1911 census in our digital access area using a Staffordshire library card and pin.

    We suggest bringing your device fully charged.
