Newcastle Library – 2pm: a free drop in story time
Meet Mary the Mole for an imaginary underground adventure. Use sensory objects to discover the world beneath our feet in this interactive storytime. Recommended for ages 18 months to 7 years with older siblings very welcome.
Pre-booking recommended to avoid disappointment.
- We’ll be handling real coal and clay so be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy.
- The storytime (with handling opportunities) takes around 25 minutes. There will also be activities and colouring sheets to use when exploring the gallery or handling the sensory objects
- Parents must not leave the engagement space and must be present whilst participants are in the session

Wednesday 31st July at Stafford Library
A free drop in afternoon: everyone is welcome.
1pm – 2:30pm: Free craft activity!
Use your imagination and help us create decorative bunting to brighten up our colourful float at Stafford Pride.
2:30pm – 3:30pm: Share your ideas!
Join our open meeting to help us plan the direction and content of our oral histories collecting project. Everyone is welcome to share their creativity and support.

Lichfield Library – storytimes starting at 10:30am and 1pm
Upstairs in the Lichfield History Access Point: head upstairs to the Hub and turn to the right. Free drop in sessions: no need to book.

Craft your own puppet characters and get hands on with puppets from our historical handling collection.
These activities are completely free, and you will get to take your new puppet friend home with you! Some of the workshops require prior booking: please check below to avoid disappointment.
10:30am – 12pm: drop in puppet theatre crafts (all ages, no need to book)
1pm: Make your own chattering hand puppet (book your space at the library desk, workshop for ages 4+)
2:30pm: Make your own dancing string puppet (book your space at the library desk, workshops for ages 7+)
- The booked workshops take around one hour: participants will be guided through the craft step by step by a presenter.
- Parents must not leave the engagement space and must be present whilst all participants are in the sessions.

We will be in the Stafford Pride Parade! Come along to show your support and pride in the LGBTQ+ community. We hope to see you there!
